If you are not going to enforce your rules why have them ?

Hi! It is a question I asked myself too. I have not a good answer yet. A big majority of the participants write in their first submission all the data required, title, name of the city, and country. I disqualified for one reason or another near 17% of the first submissions. But there are still participants that submit again but without the country. I do not know why is so difficult fot them to write the name of the country. Perhaps they are a little geo or ethnocentric and think that with just the name of the city we all will also know the country. Of course, it is not always the case. Perhaps you are right and I must enforce the rules again and again, but I am a Psychologist and I was trained to try to understand and accept people as they are. Yours, fotografiasol.

The challenge calls for sunsets "in the city", literally, but a must visually. There are a lot of shots near beaches, palm trees, lakes, but not city view. Host will have a heavy task descualifying entries.

Hi! It is a heavy task. “A sunset as seen from a city”. “The picture must show something about a sunset and something about a city”. Yes, there is a problem when trying to determine when we are actually in a city and when not. I applied a very broad criterion, accepting everything as a city if it has a human construction, no matter what how little it is. But the beaches, bays, lakes, piers, parks (fortunately), palms trees, cars, etc, are an important part of the urban landscape of many cities. And to complicate matter further, there are cultural differences in the definition of a city; a city of 100,000 inhabitants is a very large city in Iceland and a small town in a large country. I disqualified some of the images. I would also say that voters do a great job. Thank you very much for your detailed review of the images. Yours, fotografiasol.
