Show us an example of a very busy photograph you've taken outside in the natural environment, which would make a great jigsaw puzzle. Think 1,000+ piece, devious 'drive-you-crazy' picture with lots of tiny details.... :-) Macro photos are welcome, insects or spiders also welcome. SIZE: 1,600px MAXIMUM ON LONGER SIDE.

Processing rules:

SIZE: Longer side of entry, MAXIMUM 1600px.
Digital photos only, with full EXIF data.
Colour only.
No HDR.
Don't remove the background.
TITLE: Give your entry a title, not just an photo number.
NO watermarks or forms of identification, or personal website references.
Don't add 'puzzle effect' to the photo.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

No photos from previous DPR challenges can be entered in this challenge.
If you enter two photos, make sure they are different subjects.
Encouraging comments about entries are welcome.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! If you enter the challenge, take the time to vote on other entries! This will hopefully counteract the sandbaggers' votes which spoil the genuine results for everyone's entries.
Don't try to vote via Thumbnails in this challenge.....
Sandbagging, and vote solicitation will cause DQ'ing of entries, please don't even contemplate it!
Entrants or voters caught cheating will be unwelcome in my future challenges.

I think this is a fun idea. It will be interesting when voting to think about not just how appealing each photo is, but also whether or not it would make a good puzzle.

There are some wonderful, extremely detailed entries in this challenge, and I am delighted with everyone's response to it. You guys are a devious lot!!! And I am EVER so glad that the pictures aren't real jigsaw puzzles, as most would drive me nuts to try to do!
The voters are going to have a difficult time next week.
Because the challenge filled so quickly, I'm thinking of repeating the Jigsaw theme, perhaps with a Landscape Jigsaw Challenge, a Macro/Close-up Jigsaw Challenge, and a Buildings/Man-made Structures Jigsaw Challenge. (I had to DQ quite a number of excellent buildings entries because they weren't 'natural').
Please let me know if you are interested in more of these puzzle challenges, so I can schedule them in.

Definitely! Such an interesting theme which can make you look at an image in a different way.

May I suggest that given the quality of entries and the complexity of the theme, I would limit the number of entries to max 50. And if need there be, issue a III, IV versions, etc, this is to give fair voting process.
