'The Lonesome Tree' - (Provide a Border, Title and Date)

Challenge has finished

Take a BW wide angle scenic silhouette or partial silhouette shot of a tree between dawn and dusk. No Panoramas please. Put a Border and Title on the photograph. Please also watermark the capture date (correct to the month) somewhere on the photo.

Processing rules:

HDR is OK but no composites
Do not cut out / replace the background.
Strictly no sepia or color tint please.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Only entrants who have won at least one photo challenge in Dpreview.com can enter.
The total entry limit is now set at 10, but might slightly increase if the challenge is well received.
Do not submit shots used in previously completed DPReview.com challenges.
No political statements please, any photos with the slightest hint of controversial statement or message will be removed without any notice.
Shots I find offensive might be removed.
Make sure the entries look good and tasteful (at least you must find your own shot tasteful).
Complaints might not be entertained after the voting has started.
The host's action (or inaction) is up to him.

You're welcome. I wonder why so many people have so much to pick about my rules.
I guess it's not one or two of the rules, but a combination of those.
To have a winner's challenge is not a big deal, like this one. But to have them to go out to shoot it is another.

To be honest, it was my mistake, I forgot to tick the 'image to be shot after announcment' box. Suddenly the entries swelled up to so many... I wonder if I can police em all.

ConanFuji, is this the reason why the "only entrants who have won at least one photo challenge in Dpreview.com can enter." rule is being born? that is to better "police em all." (sic)? And if so from what?
You can take advantage of this your mistake, now this is a nice challenge with at least 42 entries and growing, which will be scrutinized at voter's heart content. Otherwise, it will not had reachedd a double digit number.

Your limiting rules are good, i would however suggest to give slack on the date rule, for example only images shot "this year", and not just two weeks past or less.

Hi Begonia ;) No need for apologies all opinion are respected.

For the "winner only rule" - this "ups" the challenge level in my opinion. It took me a LOT of entries to have my first win. Key is keep trying and I try to learn and continue to experiment

On the "Capture Date Rule" as most of ConanFuji's theme are portrait (at first) which is not my 'forte' I did not take part on them coz I know one of our members normally take home the Win (attn: Werli ;) and having a date rule makes it even tougher for me coz I have to attend to my day job too ;)

i think the rule "Only entrants who have won at least one photo challenge in Dpreview.com can enter." is highly unfair, since this is the second contest i would like to try and i cannot just because i'm new.

this was just a feedback, not else, by the way good luck to those who will participate.
