Let us see your best photos of those large, hairy, jumbo jets of the bee family. Just bumblebees, not honey bees, carpenter bees, native bees; NO hover flies etc. The bee/bees must be outside, on flowers, leaves, buzzing around, or just doing what bumblebees do; NOT under studio lights. Check Wikipedia for information about bumblebees. SIZE DOES MATTER: See below!

Processing rules:

SIZE: Longer side of entry, MAXIMUM 1600px.
Digital photos only, with full EXIF data.
Colour only.
No HDR.
Don't remove the background.
TITLE: Give your entry a title, not just a photo number
No watermarks or forms of identification.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

No photos from previous DPR challenges can be entered in this challenge.
Comments of encouragement are welcome.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! If you enter the challenge, take the time to vote on other entries! This will hopefully counteract the sandbaggers' votes which spoil the genuine results for everyone's entries.

Lotsa bees, not many bumblebees? My brother once told me they didn't sting. And I believed for about the second it took :-(. Despite that I still love them. We don't have them where I live so I'm enjoying looking at these photos.

Hi vajrasattva,
There are some wonderful entries here already, and as I'm NOT an entomologist, (just keen on enjoying the insects in our world,) I am giving some leniency in what may or may not be a bumblebee. There are MANY sub-species around the world, and I, in southern Australia where we don't have any at all, can't possibly know with certainty whether a bee in Iceland qualifies, but a bee in southern US doesn't.
I want entrants to enjoy their photography and to be able to share their experiences.
