The idea is to get close as in Macro, or larger than life. This does not mean shooting an ant at 1/3 rd larger than life :-). All types of images are encouraged, flowers, insects, watches, pens. In short, just get in close on any item. You do not need a macro lens to shoot macro's. Remember to read the additional rules.

I was disqualified for entering a photo that was too large, but it was not because I did not read the rules, it was because of my own stupidity. I very carefully read the rules, resized my photo to comply and then uploaded the original by mistake. You can bet I won't do that again. Sorry to be a nuisance.

Well we had a full house. One bad image has been removed. I think the poster was pushing the boundaries of what is considered bad taste. Thanks to a fellow host for alerting me.
