This challenge is JUST about 'domesticated' honey bees, which live in hives and provide us with honey for our toast. One or more bees, as you please. NO bumble bees, carpenter bees, native bees.... no hover flies, wasps, flies, spiders etc etc. (They will all have their own challenge later.) The bee/bees must be outside, on flowers, leaves, flying around, or just doing what bees do; NOT under studio lights. Check Wikipedia for information about honey bees. SIZE DOES MATTER: See below!

Processing rules:

SIZE: Longest side of entry, MAXIMUM 1600px.
Digital photos only, with full EXIF data.
Colour only.
No HDR.
Don't remove the background.
TITLE: Give your entry a title, not just a photo number
No watermarks or forms of identification.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

No photos from previous DPR challenges can be entered in this challenge.
Encouraging comments about entries are welcome.
Sandbagging, and vote solicitation will cause DQ'ing of entries, so please don't contemplate it!
Entrants or voters caught cheating will be unwelcome in my future challenges.

I have DQ'd the entry from Rekha/Rekha Singh, who has been operating multiple accounts in this, and other challenges.
He/they are not welcome to participate in any of my future challenges, since I believe that this is a very low form of cheating, and is unfair to all the other entrants who abide by the DPR rules.

I'm extremely impressed with the quality and variety of these fabulous entries to the Honey Bee Challenge, and I think you will be too.

For those DQ'd entrants who submitted Bumblebees, or Carpenter Bees, I want to assure you that in a few week's time, I'll be having two (2) more challenges; one for Bumblebees, and another for Native Bees, (the solitary bees). So start chasing these gems if you haven't already.

When this Honey Bee Challenge reaches the voting stage PLEASE PLEASE take a few minutes to vote. I know you can't vote for your own entry, but there are so few people taking the time to vote these days, that the Sandbaggers and Vote Manipulators are having a field day with the results. More honest voters will hopefully counteract those scumbags, and the quality entries will achieve the results they truly deserve.
