No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Must be Black and White or Monochrome (using only shades of grey, with or without black and/or white) or Sepia
No watermarks or any other identifying marks/text
No titles, no descriptions: in this photo-challenge you should be able to express yourself with images... leave words to writers!
Suggested Titles: "Untitled" or "-" (dash) or just leave the file-name suggested by the system when you upload your photo (As long as it's not descriptive!).
The longest size should be equal or below 1600 pixel: THIS IS NOT A RULE but a suggestion for a better evaluation of photos during the voting period. Not everyone is lucky enough to have fast internet access and huge monitors!
If you're planning acts like sandbagging, voter solicitation or cheating, PLEASE DON'T PARTICIPATE! They wouldn't help you to be a better photographer, but only a better... loser!

None of the photos in the first 10 places - except maybe #4 - seem to capture shyness...

A shy child shows fear, apprehension, discomfort.

This challenge seems to me completely missed, showing only some very nice mono portraits of children, but no shyness.

Thanks to all participants for some very nice pictures you enterd.
Sadly, as it has been happening frequently in these last months, there was a sort of "tactical" sandbagging against Werni Francois. This sabotage seems to be very well studied for "not-changing" the final score of all the photos but only the ones of Werli.
Checking the hystograms, there were three "unusual" voters:
- member 4C8DDAB3 voted 0,5 5 times (one to Werli) and 5.0 6 times,
- member 7E5261C3 voted 0,5 2 times (one to Werli) and 5.0 20 times,
- member 05DE7566 voted 0,5 1 time (...to Werli) and 5.0 22 times.
These three members only voted 0,5 and 5.0 - no in-between scores!
Except for this, all the other votes seem relatively "normal" and depends on cultural background and difference on aesthetical evaluation among all the members: it is totally acceptable for an interpretative challenge like this.
So congratulations to all and I'm very sorry for the spoiled voting pattern against Werli Francois.

Maybe some people wanted to vote down this pic. Or maybe, some people just didn't like this pic. 4 bad votes do not show obvious sandbagging, in my opinion.
