Hey, visiting Luray Caverns and photographing artistically lit formations is NOT spelunking! According to Wiki: Caving—also occasionally known as spelunking in the United States and Canada and potholing in the United Kingdom and Ireland—is the recreational pastime of exploring wild (generally non-commercial) cave systems.

Edit: I post this out of respect for those of you with scabbed knees, callused hands and broken fingernails who actually ventured into the dark...

As one of those scabbed kneed "spelunkers" i couldn't agree more. In fact i was forced to check that dpreview was indeed British before agreeing that this was indeed a mere accidental Americanism...

Rob is right, pictures in well lit showcaves require little skill re lighting, however, in the real underground world, placement of flashguns, in the order of 16 flashes for one of my shots, then the composition of the shot.. etc.. I'd do "show cave" piccies all day long, yada yada, but I dont, I do "real" cave pictures, which take months planning, & serious effort to produce a single shot worth showing.
