I suggest that people that know what a beetle is can just vote non-beetle insects and Volkswagens .5. Please, enough with attacking the host. He probably realizes now the difficulty with hosting a challenge. There are lots of excellent actual Beetle photos to vote on.

generally cows are accompanied by flies, pests or bees. so you can enter a cow for sure.

I am laughing my head off and having more fun reading the comments that actually looking at the contestants' photos. Maybe that is what the contest is about: winner photo will be the one that collects the most complains. No, seriously, it is a farce and dissapointing. If shot does not confoms with the rules and complain is ignored by host, i will not cast any vote on it.

welle some of the insects may not be beetles, but as I am not a specialist I am kind of carefull before calling this a farce.
if you guys believe a beetle is only the red model with black dots, then you may have to look at a few definitions around before laughing ...

Yes, IMO, your entry is a beetle. If a Host sets a challenge with a very specific topic, such as 'Beetles,' then he should DQ anything that is not a beetle. If he had set the challenge to be 'Insects' or 'Bugs and Beetles,' there would not have been this problem.

IMO, this challenge is a farce. The host (who has only entered 4 challenges himself, and voted only once,) seems to be allowing any insect to be in the challenge. He hasn't answered private messages concerning the challenge, and I wonder how and why DPR accepted him to be a new host! Not happy. There are responsibilities inherent to being a Challenge Host.
