A minimalism is an art style characterized by the smallest number of components used, ideally only two: a background and a little something. Such a concept favors clear simplicity and pleasant layout, conveying visual statements which usually can be contained within a singe word. So say it with Light! Processing rules:

Digital JPEG photos only - must have full EXIF.
Longer side of the photo must not be over 1600px.
Format and aspect may be as you please.
Minor Post-Processing interventions are acceptable.
No Composites - One-Shot photo contents only.
No Frames or Borders.
No watermarks, no date/time nor any other identification.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Observe DPR Rules on decency.
Do not comment under individual entries until the end of Voting Period so as not to influence fair judgment. Comments will be removed.
Sandbagging, vote soliciting or any other improper voting attempt will cause disqualification. Begging for undeserved glory is low and disgusting. Entries showing tendencious voting pattern may be removed.
Entrants / Voters caught at cheating will be removed on sight from all of my Challenges.

"Minor Post-Processing interventions are acceptable"
I'm often confused when I see these rules: for example it's a black and white converted (or sepia tone) picture intended to be allowed or not? And can contrast be enhanced (via levels or curves)?

Usually a minor PP will consist of slight contrast, color and sharpness correction, also taking out some minor distractions, but conversions to some form of monochrome has to be allowed within those interventions.
The proper way to good monochrome photos would be taking them that way, since it is better to see precisely what will be recorded, but many people simply take color photos and convert these to monochrome

Thanks for the answer,
I understand your point, however (and usually) I shoot RAW and color even for BW work, because the BW/sepia conversion is waaay more flexible/effective if you have independent access to the three color channels, being not limited by the 256 gray levels of the in-camera jpeg.

"Digital JPEG photos only" -- does that mean the photo must be shot as jpeg (not raw), or only that it wasn't shot on film? Or, in other words, are photos shot as raw and later developed okay or not?
As one cannot upload any other format than jpeg here, no film or only shot as jpeg are the only 2 possibilties I can see.

I was thinking of entries taken with a digital camera, as opposed to scanned analog material, of course in JPEG, but you are right - those may be converted RAWs. I will reword that one for the subsequent Challenges. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you for the clarification -- as I mostly shoot jpeg+raw (and dispose of the jpegs later) I wanted to know if could enter.
