Processing rules:

Black and White only. No toning or tinting. Please do the best you can to support the mood of your photo. Just "desaturating" a color original is rarely an optimal post-processing method. Be proud of what you submit.
No composites.

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Submitted photograph must fit into a rectangle of 1000 px horizontal and 750 px vertical, with one of its dimensions being exactly that of the rectangle (1000 px horizontal or 750 px vertical). Photos that do not comply will be disqualified.
Submitted photograph must not be larger than 500 KB (saving at 80% should provide room to spare).
No embedded copyright notices or watermarks with author's name.
No titles or descriptions (put a single dash "-" in place of title).
Absolutely no snapshots of homeless people or street snapshot portraits of third-world children staring into the lens.

.....nie zawsze temat " człowiek" nadaje zdjęciu ekspresję ..... czasami " martwa nautra" jest nie tylko miłym dla oczu widoczkiem .......Zgadzam się z przedmówcą , dobry zestaw interesujących zdjęć . Fajny temat . Ciekawe ktore ze zdjęć stanie na podium ?

When voting, please remember the objective of the image is to be expressive. The more thought provoking the image, the better. If it causes you to go back to it and look again, it probably achieved that objective.

I am new to this....
I saw it says to pay attention to size. How do you size it to the dimensions?

The simplest approach, if you do not own any post-processing software yet, would be to use one of the free programs on the net, like Irfanview. One of these two forums would be good to ask, depending on whether you use a PC or a Mac:

I am going to make a ruling based on what I believe is the spirit of this site - only photographs taken with a camera (even if heavy post-processing is later involved) will be allowed. No digital art, sorry. And if besides digital art there are elements taken with the camera, then it is a composite, already explicitly disallowed in the rules.
