The series now looks at humans and animals sharing our world. For this challenge, show harmony or at least acceptance between one or more human and one or more UNTACKED equine in the environment they share in that moment. This means no bridles or saddles, however halters are fine. All equine species are eligible. If unsure of any of the rules please do ask via pm. DQs of non-eligible entries will be done at the close of submissions. [ There will be a separate challenge for tacked equines ].

Processing rules:

Does NOT have to be full colour for this challenge
No special effects.
Borders/frames are fine.
HDR IS allowed in this challenge
Basic processing, and cloning out of distractions, is allowed.
No watermarks or any other identifying marks/text
No reference to the entrant`s ID in title or any other text option

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

No images depicting animal abuse, suffering or death [ nor potential injury or death ], of any animal.
No nudity.
Entries which do not adhere to the rules as written will be DQ`d
VOTERS :
0.5s should only be given on images of poor quality or for being outside the rules [ if I miss DQing any ].
If giving any 0.5s, reasons should be given, if you give it stand by it.
Voting on thumbnail is lazy and disrespectful, entrants deserve to have their images viewed properly.
Sandbagging / vote manipulation / spite voting - don`t even think of doing it !

I have been trying to upload a photo for a couple of days with no success. I see nothing wrong with having to read the rules fully before entering. Also, almost everyone in the equine world should know what "Untacked" means. I also tried uploading to my gallery and it did not work.

MAYBE IF YOU DIDN'T SHOUT AND PUT THE SUBJECT IN THE TITLE MORE PEOPLE WOULD POST ENTRIES !

Been there, done that, posted threads about it, finally had enough of begging people to read the rules under the title, so far the only way to make people read at least the first line of the actual rules is to not give anything away in the title. Entries are low this time I believe due to this and another challenge not working properly til admin fixed it, several days for entering and possibly the whole announcement stage [ I kept getting an error page myself when trying to see what was going on ] were lost as a result of whatever the tech glitch was unfortunately.

I think it would help if your description paragraph had a better presentation. You have a solid paragraph of text that is painful to read.
Communication can be an art form, but simply separating the different pieces of information onto separate lines would help a lot.
The rules section is also over-loaded, and I would bet that many give up and don't read everything to the end, it may be worth re-thinking that section and avoiding redundant stuff (e.g. DQing entrants that don't adhere to the rules doesn't need stating).

For entrants not well versed in 'equine speak', here is the definition of Equine :

Tack refers to equipment

The rules specify Halters are ok for this challenge, the reason being many equines may be turned out or stabled with a halter on so may be the only opportunity for getting a suitable shot of an otherwise untacked equine.

There will be a different challenge for horses specifically in tack.

This is the only notification before close of entries that equines in Tack will be DQd.....

I just uploaded a sample which worked ok, [ same process as an entry submission ], have you tried uploading to your gallery first then entering the challenge from there ? Please give that a try if you haven't already, also worth clearing browser cache, then if you still have problems uploading please post again here and I will try to chase up an admin to look into it :)
