Processing rules:

No special effects; Create the art with your camera not with pp
Colors and contrast should appear natural and realistic.
Basic processing, and cloning out of distractions, is allowed.
Subtle HDR is okay as long as it isn't blatantly visible

Capture date rules:

No restrictions.

Additional rules:

Comply with the standard DPR decency rules.
No recycling; photos must not have been entered in previous challenges
Don't forget the caption;
Expect entries, which do not adhere to the rules, to be disqualified.
VOTERS :
0.5s should only be given on images of being outside the rules and reasons should be given in the comments.

Why is "Art" defined as something that happens in the camera and not in PP? The camera is doing lots of PP especially if you shoot in jpg. I really don't understand the bias against working with the photo after it was shot.

Do you have an issue with Ansel's work? I doubt it.

I agree, sam, it's a silly and unexamined prejudice; what the science of the camera creates is somehow 'pure,' but what the science of software creates is not?

Both are tools requiring the individual's creativity.

Essentially that is strawman fallacy. Nowhere does itr say that PP is disallowed, just to keep it minimal to shape things up a little. If it's a bias then so be it, I just like to see natural looking images as you could see them in the world around you. No black clouds in exagarated HDR, no floating shiny balls with a click in special effects. Just a natural picture.
