The client is looking for images consisting entirely of texture. The texture will be used for trim on a web page and in a magazine as an ad border. The final image may be lightened or darkened according to their requirements.

There are two images that are identical. How can that be?

So many images that are not texture. Some are neither texture nor pattern.

Yup. The problem is that too many people don't understand how texture is represented in two dimensions. We can safely say that an image of leather has texture, but what about sand? Some might argue that sand is a lot of objects, not texture. For me, sand has texture. If sand is OK, what about pebbles? If pebbles, what about gravel? And so on. We're not playing for sheep stations so I have no issue with allowing images that sort of look like texture.

Question plz: The challenge has too many interpretations you know... Most of the images are earthly textures here but what kind of a texture do you need exactly? Do you need a fashion texture? Do you need a texture of light? Is the border going to be like National Geographic all sides?

I agree. Too many people mistake pattern for texture. For this challenge, though, no specific texture is required. As the final product will be turned into borders and trim, I would expect the "client" to duplicate and mirror the image, then cut it to size. The image should certainly NOT be National Geographic cover material as it is intended for decorative trim, not as the subject itself.

Texture implies a great degree of uniformity. Images of things WITH texture is not the same as images OF texture. I've disqualified a lot of pictures that had texture in them, but were not consisting ENTIRELY of texture. I've decided to stretch the definition a bit when an image creates some uniformity in pattern that can be interpreted as a texture.
