Cityscapes are broad vistas of a city or town, showing mainly buildings. Show full rules Announced: Thursday, 26th May, 2011 (GMT) Submissions: Thursday, 2nd June, 2011 – Wednesday, 8th June, 2011 (GMT) Voting: Thursday, 9th June, 2011 – Wednesday, 15th June, 2011 (GMT) Processing rules: Minimal. The intention of this challenge is to produce straight photographs of urban landscapes. Capture date rules: No restrictions. Additional rules: Generally speaking, sharpness and detail is valued in these kind of photos. For best results, use a tripod, and set your camera on its lowest ISO setting. You may need to add sharpness in post-processing. Good depth of field is usually desired, and be sure that very distant detail is in sharp focus. Consider the principles of composition. Since you won't have just one subject, be sure the various objects in the scene balance each other. Try not to over expose the sky; this may be a good use of exposure blending.
