The Macro Lens

I don't think these challenges are in a serious enough arena to be quite this pedantic - however - I would imagine that you could tell if an image has been cropped by checking the camera specifications for pixels x pixels of an original image. Compare that with the pixels x pixels of the submitted image. If the submitted image is less in either direction it must have been cropped - mustn't it?? Anyone else care to enlighten us on the accuracy of this assumption?

In a more relevant theme - I find the challenge concept to be very useful in forcing me to actually think about the factors affecting the final image, instead of falling back on point and shoot in auto mode. What number I get voted is not my major concern. I just like to see how others interpret the challenge. Macro lens means macro lens but think about what it can do. That's more important than worrying about why your image didn't "win". If you want to be that serious you need to pay the price of becoming a pro.
