But realism is not enough - there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph.” ¶ Frank’s book Les Américains (The Americans) is one of the most important photography books of the later 20th Century. Images from a recent exhibition on the book can be seen here: ¶ Frank later built a career in film making but continues to do still photography and plan exhibits of his work. ¶ Early in his career, Frank was influenced by renowned graphic designer and art director Alexey Brodovitch at Harper’s Bazaar. ¶ Additional information, a slide show of Frank’s work, and an audio visual presentation with commentary by Frank can be seen here:
