Diane Arbus: Answer the Riddle
Challenge has finished
“A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know.” Diane Arbus 1923-1971
¶ Arbus was known for taking photographs of unusual people. Giants, twins, intellectually handicapped people, circus people. The term at the time was freaks. But she also took pictures of regular people too. They look funny because she took pictures of them in the 1950s and 1960s. Funny glasses and hair to our eyes now.
But what if Arbus was alive today? Who would she photograph?
¶ Here is an online book of some of her best work: http://diane-arbus-photography.com/
