Challenge has finished Although just about every camera saves images using JPEG compression by default, saving raw, unprocessed, sensor data is a common option. Raw formats allow more sophisticated post-processing (PP) and can thus produce higher-quality images. This challenge is for photos that show off what raw capture allows you to do. Show full rules Announced: Thursday, 2nd June, 2011 (GMT) Submissions: Thursday, 9th June, 2011 – Wednesday, 15th June, 2011 (GMT) Voting: Thursday, 16th June, 2011 – Wednesday, 22nd June, 2011 (GMT) Processing rules: Each entry should be the result of PP of a single raw capture. If your favorite image editor doesn't understand your camera raw format, you probably can use the free dcraw program to convert it. Capture date rules: No restrictions. Additional rules: PP raw images often have incomplete EXIF information; please edit the focal length, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to be correct in your submission. Photos entered here should not have been entered in any other dpreview challenge. Some cameras don't fully support raw capture, but can be made to do it using hidden options or CHDK -- which is fine for this challenge.
