 Panasonic
The spacious Panasoniuc stand is dominated as much by vast plasma screens as by the compact cameras the company is showing off.
But the compacts are here, with a broad range of models ranging from the inexpensive F2 up to the venerable but still tantalising LX3. There's one of the company's latest rugged TS2s in a water-filled case but most of the action is in the demonstration sections of the stand. Different sections of the stand are given over to displays and shooting oportunities explaining the benefits of Intelligent Auto mode and the company's latest, context-sensitive Intelligent Resolution feature that smooths and sharpens different regions of a digitally zoomed image dependant on the type of detail being processed.
The Lumix G range is also here but there's nothing new on show. There's the predictable slew of lenses and adapters, and even a GH1-filmed movie being shown on an epic 103" plasma display but there's nothing we've not seen before.
