Olympus

The Olympus stand was a rather different affair from previous years, with the company's PEN-branded Micro Four Thirds cameras making their presence felt. In the past, we've been used to seeing the company's compacts dominating the stand with a substantial section left aside for Four Thirds DSLRs, but this year its a pretty much equal split between PEN, compacts and DSLRs.

It's not hard to guess which is getting the most attention here. The now-traditional displays of tough compacts being drowned, dropped and generally abused, the DSLRs are still here in amongst arrays of black lenses but all the buzz is about the PENs.

Olympus is making a great show of how much of a system Micro Four Thirds has already become with every conceivable lens, case, accessory and add-on being shown. In addition to the recently announced 9-18mm lens, there's a mockup of the forthcoming 14-150mm plus a choice of microphone options. Space is even given over to a display of PENs wearing Novoflex adapters and just about every conceivable brand of lens - probably the only time we'll see Nikkors and Canons lenses on a different maker's stand.
