Sony

There is hardly an aspect of digital imaging that is not being covered on the Sony stand this year. The Sony offering reaches from camcorders via dye-sub printers to all sorts of accessories and even mobile communication devices, all accompanied by a sea of presentation LCD screens. More crucially for us there is also the entire range of new Cyber-shot compact cameras and Alpha DSLRs on display.

For the kid in all of us there is a model railway landscape (test subject for the Alpha 200, 300 and 350 DSLRs) and you can take a trip down memory lane at Sony's SLR 'museum display' which houses a number of old Minolta Maxxum Bodies. The obvious favourite with the masses however is the mock up of a new (still unnamed) flagship DSLR that will use the newly annunced 24.6 MP full frame sensor. Along with the camera there is a whole range of interesting looking lenses (all still unnamed and no specs given) which will be launched in the nearer future. The camera itself will come to market sometime in 2008.
