HP

HP's large colorful booth is stuffed to the gills with printers, kiosks, cameras and accessories. New for PMA are three cameras full of HP technology goodness including on the top of the range model - for the first time as far as we're aware - a 'Pet Eye Fix' function that removes the green eyes you often get when using flash for all those lovely cat and dog portraits. Our source at HP tells us that it works with pretty much any animal except guinea pigs and rabbits (since they have red eyes anyway). To be fair some of the new technology (such as in-camera 'Touch Up' for removing skin blemishes) and image tagging is very impressive, and the cameras are very aggressively priced.

The three new models are the R837 (7MP, 3x zoom/folded optics/3" screen) for $229 and the M537 and M437 entry-level cameras (6MP and 5MP respectively) - both sporting 3x zooms and 2" screens for $139 and $109.

One thing we did like (and something we'd like to see more of) is USB charging, using a standard mini USB port.
