 Tamron
Tamron is using PMA to launch two new additions to its Di II lens range (Di II are digital-only lenses for APS sensor SLRs). The SP AF 11-18mm F4.5-5.6 LD Aspherical [IF] (try saying that in a single breath) is likely to start shipping in May 05 at a recommended price of around $549, whilst the 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 XR Di II Aspherical [IF] Macro should hit the stores in April (Canon EOS fit) at just shy of $400. In both cases Nikon AF, Minolta AF and Pentax AF fit versions will arrive a month or so later. We had a play with both lenses on the stand, and were impressed with build quality and finish, and will be interested to see if they can offer the quality needed to challenge Sigma's domination of the independant SLR lens market.
