Samsung

Samsung has taken over a large portion of Hall 4 here in Cologne but doesn't appear to have any new products on show. There's a prototype, in a glass case, of a compact 10X zoom camera that clearly has the Pansonic TZ5 in its sights. It will have a 10.2 megapixel sensor, a zoom range starting at 24mm and 720p HD video recording. What it doesn't have, yet, is a finalized name. For now it's known as the HZ1.

Other than that, the stand is home to a display of GX20 DSLRs (Samsung appears not to be selling a version of Pentax's new K-m/K2000 entry-level model), and plenty of opportunities to shoot with the company's range of wide-angle and HD-compatible compacts.
