Olympus

The big news from Olympus at Photokina is the mock-up of a Micro Four Thirds camera concept that shows just how small the new format can go (in stark contrast to Panasonic's G1). Measuring just 4.7" x 2.5" x 1.2" the mock-up is certainly a promising indication of what we can expect from future models. Also on show is the much further advanced 'tweener' model that will sit between the E-520 and E-3 in the company's Four Thirds DSLR range (which we posted live from its unveiling on Monday). It's similar in size to the E-3 and will be available in the first quarter of 2009.

On the non-SLR side is the latest 'Tough' model; the 10MP Mju (Stylus) 1050SW and the Mju/Styus 1040, a cute but rather generic 10MP ultra compact. Filling out the entry-level end of the range are three new 'FE' models; the FE-20, FE-360 and FE-370 (the latter two optionally available in a fetching shade of pink).
