Microsoft

The big news on the Microsoft stand was the launch of a publication born of a collaboration with Nokia, Apple, Adobe, Sony and Canon. Dubbed the 'Metadata Working Group,' it has published a series of guidelines aimed at achieving two goals:

1) The preservation and seamless interoperability of digital image metadata.

2)Interoperability and availability to all applications, devices and servcies.

Microsoft has a large stand with a variety of products aimed at photographers including recently released Lenovo and Sony Vaio photo laptops developed jointly with the company.

A Raw workflow bundle which combines Expression Media 2 asset management software (based on the iView media pro product that Microsoft bought), with the popular Capture One Pro Raw developer is being shown for both Mac and Windows. The Photosynth 3D technology that has created a lot of excitement and a 64-bit version of Pro Photo Tools are also on show.
