Samsung

Samsung's already huge product range has again been boosted with the introduction at Photokina of seven new models, all on show for the first time here. The V and U-CA series get new models and updates, and there's a new tier to the 'A' series range.

Topping the V series range is the V70, a 7 megapixel compact featuring MPEG-4 movies, 2.0-inch rotating LCD, 4cm macro and PictBridge compatability. The V6 updates the V5 to 6 megapixels, but seems otherwise identical, with Schneider lens, manual controls and metal body. The cute U-CA 4 (4-megapixel) and U-CA 505 (5 megapixel) both feature a love it or hate it glittery pearlescent coating, with the U-CA 4 available in either gunmetal or silver. The three new A series cameras are the A5 and A6 (5 and 6 megapixels respectively) and a new entry-level 4 megapixel camera, the A400. Also launched were a new range of lens adaptors and waterproof housings (for the V series cameras).
