Digitizing film-based pictures

Not only digital ....

Since  I  use  both  digital-  and  filmbased  camerasystems, I  have  no  plans for  ending  my  filmbased photography.  Using  film  (i.e.  the  120-format )  gives me  a feeling  of  REALLY  doing  photography. One of the reasons  for  this  feeling, is that  once  you  have  made  a  film-based exposure,  the  picture  is taken - and  that's  it ...!  So, it  puts  an  extra  "load"  on  your  skills. 

I  feel  that  I  have  to  be  more  aware  of  how  I  want to  compose / expose  the  picture, before  I  trigg  the  release-button.  And -  I don't  get  the  possibilyty  to  see  the  picture,  before  the  film

is  developed.  Fortunately , there are a  lot  of  photographers  who  stick  to  that  way  of  picture-taking

yet.

      When they  have  got their  films  back  (ready  developed - of course)  , then  it  is  time  for   SCANNING  or  DIGITIZING   their  films.  Also  i n  this  phase,  it  is  important  to  do  a  good  job.

YES  -  it  is  - of course  much  easier  to  shoot  with your  digital  camera.  Don't  misunderstand me. 

Of course -  I  love  my  Nikon  D700  - also.  It  is  a  very  fine  tool  to  take  pictures with.

In  my  little  world,  the  two  technologies  (film  versus  digital)  finally  get  their  common  "meeting-place"  in   PhotoShop  Elements.
