Less than two months after Calumet Photographic abruptly closed its U.S. retail stores, C&A Marketing Inc. announced it has acquired most of the company’s U.S. assets. C&A, which also licenses Polaroid instant imaging products has recently acquired four Cardinal Camera stores and is also expanding RitzPix.com, plans to 'incorporate the Calumet assets' into its Ritz portfolio.

Whether or not C&A will reopen all or any Calumet retail stores is under evaluation, with a promise to announce specific plans soon. Chaim Pikarski, C&A marketing’s Executive Vice President says, 'If we move forward with a variation of the traditional retail model, online or a hybrid representing both, Calumet’s customers can look forward to their loyalty being rewarded in the very near future'.

Meanwhile, C&A plans to reactivate Calumet's U.S. online presence - calumetphoto.com - and reopen its rental business so customers can return their rental equipment without penalties in the next few weeks. For more information, visit camarketing.com/calumet
