Nikon P510's amazing 1000mm telephoto
| | Published May 1, 2012 | Product Reviews & Previews |
Last year I hauled a Canon 1Ds (MkIII) + 600mm lens +1.4X extender + large tripod to 1/8 mile from a bald eagle nesting site in central Oregon and got some pretty good photos. This year I took a 20-ounce Nikon P510 and 14-ounce 40-inch tripod to the same site and grabbed 600 photos of comparable quality over a 5-hour period using the camera's interval timer. A stunning 30:1 cost and weight ratio but equivalent photo results.
