I'm a wedding photographer?

Whilst thinking back on an amazing weekend with friends in Warwickshire I had a sudden realisation…they asked me to photograph their wedding!
Now, I will be honest, this isn’t really a sudden realisation and I have been thinking about it since the moment they asked me. That said, it really is starting to dawn on me what it actually means. My first thought when my friend Heather asked me was that she was joking and it took a good few minutes to convince me she was serious. As soon as I realised what she was actually asking me I think my first comment was “I would love to! But, you are going to get a proper photographer as well…aren’t you?!” Nope. She was completely serious. I’m going to be a wedding photographer.
Being a wedding photographer wasn’t something I ever thought I would be doing and it is an absolute honour that Heather and Matt would ever consider me good enough to photograph their special day. I have to say, a large part of me still thinks they are absolutely crazy to ask me but the other part of me is so determined to make sure I produce the quality of images they deserve. I’m so excited to have this opportunity to look forward to at the end of the year; it has really inspired me to work hard and to dedicate quality time to improving my photography.
Over the next 11 months I hope to get some experience with a wedding photographer to hone my skills and I will keep you updated on my progress. Also, if anyone has any tips or techniques that they would like to share then I am all ears!
I would also like to take this opportunity to again congratulate Matt and Heather on their engagement – wishing you all the happiness in the world!
