Nikon D810: What You Need to Know
Expeed 4 Improves Speed
'Expeed' is in itself a meaningless marketing term, which Nikon uses to describe its ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits). The D810 ships with a processor that meets the Expeed 4 standard, but all you need to know is that the camera's data processing speed is roughly 30% improved overall compared to the D800/E, and Nikon has upped the 'old' maximum framerate of 4fps to 5fps at full 36MP resolution.
As always with processor improvements, Expeed 4 also has a part to play in reducing image noise at ultra-high ISO sensitivity settings.
