CP+ 2015: Sony shows off new technology
CP+ 2015: Sony Stand Report
The in-body stabilization (IBIS) technology developed by Sony is used not only for IBIS, but also for autofocus motors in the DSC-RX10 and the new FE mount 35mm F1.4 ZA lens being introduced. These systems used piezoelectrics to generate small, precise mechanical movements in response to applied electrical fields. Also pictured here is the 'Ring Drive SSM (Super Sonicwave Motor)', used in a number of A-mount and E-mount lenses, such as the Sony Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm F1.4 ZA.
