It's not often we get to eat what we photograph, but that's exactly what we did in our latest Field Test. We took the Samsung NX500 into the woods, joining professional photographer and mycology enthusiast Eirik Johnson to forage for some wild mushrooms. While providing a keen eye to make sure we didn't try to eat anything poisonous, Eirik also helped us try out the NX500's imaging and 4K video features.

Back in Seattle, we turned our chanterelles over to chef and food photographer Aran Goyoaga, who guided us through a styled shoot in her her kitchen-studio; she demonstrated how the NX500 could be used to make the subtle colors and textures of these unique mushrooms come to life and tell a story. And yeah, we ate what we photographed...
