Canon Digital Photo Professional software update boosts camera support
Canon's Digital Photo Professional software, commonly referred to as DPP, has just received updates to versions 4.0.2 and 3.14.41. Both of these were joined by updates to a roster of the company's other photography-centric software, including the EOS Utility, EOS MOVIE Utility, and Picture Style Editor.
Digital Photo Professional is intended for photographers who primarily shoot Raw, providing a way to sort and process images, print photographs, and more. Version 4.0.2 is limited to those running 64-bit systems, whereas version 3.14.41 also supports 32-bit systems.
The 4.x update is a simple one, adding EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM support. The 3.14.41 update is more extensive, however, including added support for the PowerShot G7 X, PowerShot SX60 HS, and EOS 7D Mark II while dropping support for OS X 10.7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. In the latter version, a bug fix is also applied that corrects an issue with saving certain files, among other things.
EOS MOVIE Utility 1.2 has gained support for five EOS cameras and has had several improvements applied, including more items in the info display and an enhanced image cropping function. Picture Style Editor 1.14.20 and EOS Utility 2.14.10 bring EOS 7D Mark II support, and EOS Utility 3.0.1 has added EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM support.
