Third-party lens manufacturer Tamron's product line can be seen in hall 4. Visitors can bring their own cameras and attach and try almost the entire range of Tamron products. New for this show is the SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD which finally features an ultrasonic AF-motor. The stand's large stage area professional photographers showcase imagery which has been captured with Tamron lenses.

Although not new the 18-270mm superzoon still draws a lot of attention. Here it can be seen retracted...	...and with the zoom fully extended.

I really really wish they made that 70-200 f2.8 in K-mount... they can take the VC out so it can cost less :D

If they ever made one, they will. But I don't think it will cost less. This happened all time to Sony alpha. :(

I do too. Why not make one? Go ahead and include the VC and give Pentax users the option on which to use.

The price for the 70-200 VC? I hope it's not in the $1500 range because of the VC, as in that case it would probably a better plan for Nikon shooters to look at a used 70-200 VR I. And for Canon shooters, either a non-IS 70-200 or the superb 70-200 f4 IS might be tough to pass up in that price bracket. But the original Tamron 70-200 2.8 is a very good lens optically. We'll see how the VC turns out.

agreed, my guess is that they will charge a lot more for VC USD.

Well don´t forget that the Nikkor VR1 lens has vignetting at the 70mm end on FX cameras while they fixed that in the VRII. If this new Tamron avoids that vignetting issue and has a VC that is comparable to the level of the VRII, then a $1500 price point is quite reasonable since the VRII usually sells about $2300 new in most stores. Obviously the optical quality won´t match the Nikkor, but if its close that may make it good value

Can you get Tamron and Sigma to comment on what their plans are regarding making more lenses in Pentax K mount? It's a bit frustrating seeing their lenses go to other mounts, few for Pentax shooters.

Why did they drop the K-mount? I don't understand why they did this. I have their old 90mm f/2.8 macro lens that I use on my K10D. Works just fine.

Interested in how they do VC + piezo motor for the 70-200, but in the last couple of lens where they added VC to a venerable line (28-75 to 24-70 and 17-50), the optical results were okay, but not a home run.

I would like to see some standard primes from Tamron, e.g. 30mm or 35mm (cca. f1,8-f2); 50 mm (f1,4 - f1,8) would be also fine.
P.S: there´s a typo in picture description: "...and in hand" indicates it is still picture of 18-270 but it is clearly a 60mm macro.
